1. The Triumvirate

Sometimes called "the holy trinity," it comprises Brobee (from the oft-mentioned television show "Yo Gabba Gabba"), Pooh-san, and old/new friend Margaret Miller. For a while it was just Pooh-san, then it was just Brobee, then it was Brobee and Pooh-san together, then one day a couple of weeks ago she picked up Margaret Miller, gave her a big hug, and The Triumvirate was complete. They go everywhere with Yuki. They sit on the back of the toilet when Yuki is in the tub. She piles them in her toy stroller and pushes them around the house and down the street. They have breakfast together. But they do have to wait by the door when we go out. Oh, and Margaret Miller was a gift from the real Margaret Miller, master quilter and loving mom to our dear friend, David.
2. They Might Be Giants

I've been listening to TMBG for more of my life than I haven't been listening to them. Fortunately, their songs for kids are pretty much like their songs that are not for kids so listening to them is still a joy. And when one of their CDs ("NO!") has taken up permanent residence in the downstairs CD player and another of their CDs ("Here Come the ABCs!") is seemingly fused into the upstairs CD player, it's nice that it is music Mommy and Dadoo can enjoy. The phase where she played the first 15 seconds of every CD in our entire collection only lasted a couple of days before she settled on the two mentioned above.
3. Mister Dog

He's "the dog who belonged to himself" and another on my growing list of books I adore by Margaret Wise Brown (Garth Williams' illustrations are dandy, too). Yuki pets the cover and squeals when she sees it and she sometimes puts it in her toy stroller with The Triumvirate and pushes it around. The other night she took it to bed and she was flipping through the pages as I closed the door. What's funny is that when we get to the last page she starts shouting "Nonononono!" (which is a thing she does) and tries to flip back to the beginning.
4. BUBBLES!
She loves 'em so much that my lungs hurt the other night after a 45-minute bubble fiesta. I went to two stores today looking for a battery-powered bubble making toy but apparently they aren't in season. ("Damn it, Toys 'R Us, my child's wants know nothing of 'seasons'!") We have video of her going bubble crazy and we'll post it in the next couple of days.
5. "See ya'." This is one of her new favorite things to say.
