Because it is getting to be time, and because our dear friend Naho is pregnant and has volunteered to take our crib, we have decided to finally get Kiddo a "big girl bed."
This is the one we chose:
We like it because when she's bigger and less likely to roll out (and we are confident that she will roll out, early and often), the whole thing flips over and becomes this:
We got the bed on Saturday and promised Kiddo that soon she would have a new bed. We called it a "new pink bed" because she is entering a pink phase and calling it a "new pink bed" got her very excited. Obviously, it's blue, so we bought a lot of pink bedding.
Anyway, the bed (and the two pictures above) are from Ikea. Which means somebody has a lot of work to do.

We put the enormous and deceptively heavy box in the dining room and explained to our dear daughter that she would have to wait until Dadoo built it before she could sleep in it. She seemed to understand.
Then she came downstairs on Sunday morning and, with neither parental prodding nor assistance, did this.

Either she's terribly impatient, or her sarcasm skills are terrifically advanced. I, her father, am simultaneously ashamed and proud.

And good luck on that whole bed business.
Ikea.
Oy.
A.J. - Impatient and sarcastic? I'm not sure who you think that describes. Also, that is actually a Totoro tissue box cover. I'm not sure I have the energy to explain further.
Or are you just resigned to having Yuki sleep on the box??

I suspect Mimi is to blame for that, but you can take credit, too, Philip.
