I'd like to thank the academy...

It's an honor just to be nominated.

This year, we saw exactly two films that were nominated for Academy Awards; Ratatouille and Juno. That ain't so bad for a first year with a kid, especially since both of them won something.

I'd like to thank the Lincoln Cinema for having Thursday 10 am "Mommy Matinees," Cranium for giving my husband a paternity leave, and Rhiannon for babysitting.

What's the big deal? These things taste terrible!

in the top picture it looks like she is performing stanley's famous "guilty look"! and what is that picture on her shirt?

Hi Anonymous Sibling. The shirt is an Academy Award statue for "Best Baby" in the categories of eating and sleeping. She was the clear favorite for eating, but we were all surprised she took the sleeping award.

Yuki is now approaching the age where she is hearing at school that Santa perhaps does not exist and that things are coming from parents. This concern is also spreading to the area of the Tooth Fairy and the Switch Witch. But, Yuki still wants to believe in the magic.  So much so that while she expressed concern, she has yet to come out and ask us. So I suggested we watch Miracle on 34th Street which we did during Thanksgiving weekend and she was starry eyed.
